FAQ

Clear answers before you request care.

Practical questions about scheduling, payment, lymphatic therapy, post-surgical recovery, and how to share information safely.

Questions

Getting started

How do I request an appointment?

Use the Request Appointment page to share your contact details, service interest, and basic scheduling context. The public form should not include detailed medical history.

What happens after I submit the request?

The practice reviews your request and follows up to clarify fit, timing, and the safest next step. A static public request should stay brief; secure intake comes after the appointment pathway is confirmed.

Is this form for urgent medical questions?

No. The public form is for appointment requests and general fit questions only. Urgent concerns should go through the appropriate medical or emergency channel.

Questions

Visits, payment, and logistics

How long are visits?

Most visits are 55 minutes and one-on-one with Dr. Carolyn Baek.

Is Baek PT & Wellness in-network with insurance?

The practice is out-of-network and cash-based. Superbills may be available for reimbursement requests when appropriate.

Where is the practice located?

Baek PT & Wellness serves Westchester, New York. Detailed directions and parking guidance are shared after scheduling.

Questions

Care paths

Why are lymphatic therapy and post-surgical recovery on the same page?

They often overlap. Post-surgical swelling, scar mobility, tissue comfort, compression questions, and recovery planning are closely connected to lymphatic-focused care.

Is the practice only for women?

No. The brand is warm and wellness-forward, but Baek PT & Wellness also treats men in orthopedic, tennis, pickleball, and active adult populations.

Can I ask if I am not sure which service fits?

Yes. Choose the closest option or select Not sure yet. The follow-up can clarify the right starting point.

Do you support postpartum or breast-health concerns?

Yes. Dr. Baek provides physical therapy and lymphatic-informed support for postpartum breast inflammation, clogged ducts, mastitis recovery, nursing strain, and sensitive breast-health recovery when appropriate.

Questions

Specialty questions

Is lymphatic therapy the same as massage?

No. Lymphatic therapy uses clinical reasoning, gentle techniques, swelling assessment, movement guidance, and education around self-management and compression when appropriate.

Can you help with lymphedema or lipedema questions?

Dr. Baek is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and can support swelling, heaviness, compression questions, and long-term management planning when this setting is appropriate.

How soon after surgery should I reach out?

It is reasonable to ask early so timing can be coordinated around your surgeon's instructions, restrictions, swelling, scar mobility, and current recovery stage.

Is postpartum breast-health support a lactation visit?

No. It is physical therapy and lymphatic-informed support that may complement medical or lactation care. Fever, worsening symptoms, or urgent concerns should be handled medically.

Can tennis or pickleball care help if I want to keep playing?

Often the goal is not simply to stop activity. Care can help adjust load, rebuild capacity, and stage a return to serves, rallies, matches, lessons, and weekly play.
