Getting started

Do I need a referral?

Often no — New York direct-access rules may allow an initial period of care without a referral, depending on timing and your situation. Requirements can vary by insurance.

How do I book, and what happens next?

Use the request form or call/text. We’ll follow up within 24 hours to confirm details and help you choose the right starting point.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing you can move in, with easy access to the area we’re treating.

Will I see the same provider every visit?

Yes — every visit is one-on-one with Dr. Carolyn Baek.

Locations & parking

Where are you located?

Two New Rochelle locations: North End Fitness & Training (1293 North Ave) and Tennis Innovators Academy (55 Quaker Ridge Rd). See locations & hours.

Where do I park and which entrance do I use?

Full parking, entrance, and accessibility details are on the Locations page — including the blue staircase and accessible side entrance at North End.

Insurance & payment

Is Baek PT & Wellness in-network with insurance?

The practice is out-of-network and cash-based, which keeps visits one-on-one and unhurried.

Do you provide superbills?

Yes — superbills may be provided for reimbursement requests when appropriate.

Lymphatic care, lipedema & lymphedema

Is lymphatic therapy the same as a spa massage?

No — it’s medical care from a Certified Lymphedema Therapist as part of a complete plan.

How do I know if I have lipedema or lymphedema?

They can look similar but differ. An evaluation clarifies which you have. See Lipedema and Lymphedema.

Do you help with compression garments and pumps?

Yes — measuring, fitting, ordering help, and concierge support with paperwork, pumps, and supplies.

Surgery recovery & breast cancer rehab

When should I start — before or after surgery?

Starting before surgery (prehab) helps protect your result, but any stage is appropriate. See Surgery Recovery.

Do you coordinate with my surgeon?

Yes, where appropriate, following your surgeon’s protocol.

Can rehab reduce my risk of lymphedema after cancer treatment?

Yes — risk reduction and early management are central. See Breast Cancer Rehabilitation.

Tennis & pickleball

Do you treat pickleball injuries and offer return-to-play?

Yes — injury care, return-to-play rehab, and performance work. See Tennis & Pickleball.

Can you help if I’m not injured?

Yes — movement analysis, injury-risk screening, and longevity programming.

Virtual visits

Who is a good fit for virtual care?

Virtual visits suit education, coaching, home-program progression, and follow-up — including patients who travel for surgery. We’ll advise whether it’s appropriate for you.

Speaking events

Do you speak to community groups and clinicians?

Yes — on lipedema, lymphedema, breast cancer rehab, movement, and prevention, in person or virtually. See Speaking Events.
